Effective management of all our driving operations is our utmost priority and must be realized in highly safe conditions in Jabeeb Consult Limited. We place a very high premium on the lives of all our employees hence we are committed to managing our land and marine Logistics operations in a manner that will minimize and control the associated Health and Safety hazards.
Driving accidents and fatalities are recognized as one of the greatest risks in many company’s operations and most of the inherent hazards are outside the Company’s control. It is therefore important that risk and exposure are minimized by eliminating unnecessary travel, by selecting the most suitable type of transport and by selecting fit-for-purpose equipment.
Driving is also a major source of stress and it is in both the Company and employee’s interest to minimize it.
All risks which are under the Company’s control should be minimized and thus in our driving
- All vehicles used on company business shall comply with Company’s Transport Management Procedures. Only competent and authorized personnel would be allowed to operate company vehicles.
- No driver being under the influence of alcohol or drugs would be allowed.
- All drivers must drive in a defensive way and in a courteous manner.
- Speed limits must be highly respected.
Land Transport:
Buses are marginally safer than cars and for larger groups. One bus is considerably safer than several cars (at least for third parties).
- All vehicles used on Company’s business must have functional seat belts and all passengers must have a seat belt on for as long as the vehicle is in motion.

- All passengers must be properly seated while the bus/car is in motion and must keep hands and legs inside of the vehicle.
- Long-distance travel must be permitted only in daylight and the vehicle must be equipped with communication devices and escort when necessary. All drivers must be aware of pedestrians and must respect them in all driving conditions.
- All vehicles must be in excellent operational condition.
Water Transportation (Marine Logistics):
- A life jacket is mandatory for all personnel on deck and/or aboard.
- No trips are allowed under extreme weather conditions.
- No boats should sail during rough sea conditions.
- Dinghy and utility boat quartermasters must always use safety shutdown engine devices.
- Overloading is not permitted.
- Quartermasters & River masters must watch out for the community’s smaller canoes and respect them.
- Boats must always be driven within safe speed limits.
- All passengers on board must be properly seated and must keep hands and legs inside of the vessel while the boat is underway.
- Reduce speed and drive with extra caution in weather and river conditions likely to reduce visibility to short-range namely: heavy rainfall, harmattan, mist, fog, etc.
- Night hours, 1900hrs – 0600hrs movement is strictly prohibited except in case of emergency subject to Jabeeb Consult responsible officer’s authorization.
- First Aid Box and torch must be present in all vessels.
This Policy strictly applies to all land and water transport operations undertaken by Jabeeb Consult Limited employees and contractors on Company Business.
Management shall implement this policy and support all worthy initiatives aimed at enhancing its performance.
